  1. Oliver Glyn Thomas

    Managing Partner


    Oliver is Managing Partner at Grafton Capital, having founded the business with Ed in 2014. Oliver has led each of Grafton's investments to date and is currently a board director at Softomotive and Starleaf.

    Prior to founding Grafton with Ed in 2014, Oliver spent eight years leading investment teams at Summit Partners and HgCapital.

    Oliver has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MA in Economics & Management from The University of Oxford, where he was awarded his blue at middle weight in the annual varsity boxing contest. Oliver is father of two daughters and a keen supporter of Welsh rugby. He sits on the Development Advisory Board at Jesus College, Oxford.

  2. Edward Barroll Brown



    Edward is a Partner of Grafton Capital, having founded the business with Oli in 2014. Ed leads the investment platform side of our business, and is also a board director at Third Financial Software, Alva Reputation, and SportPursuit.

    Ed was previously a Partner in the CIT Group, an entrepreneurial asset manager with circa £1.5bn of gross assets under management, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations of the group. Ed has broad commercial and investment experience across several sectors and has held more than 20 company directorships in the UK and overseas.

    Ed originally qualified as a solicitor at the US law firm Jones Day, and is approved by the Financial Conduct Authority.

  3. Charles Covell

    Investment Director


    Charles joined Grafton Capital from KKR & Co in 2019 and takes a leading role in the origination and execution of new investments.

    Charles played a leading role in various aspects of our investment in Omilia, and is also a board member at MPP Global.

    Prior to Grafton Capital, Charles was an investment professional at KKR & Co, and an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

    Originally from Chicago, USA, Charles studied at Edinburgh University and has called the UK home since.

  4. David Olsson

    Investment Manager


    David joined Grafton in 2019 having previously worked as a strategy consultant with Kaiser Associates, and a business analyst at Amazon.

    David supports Grafton portfolio companies with strategic projects that are of board-level importance, where internal resource is either lacking or better utilised on revenue-generating activities. This positions him well to facilitate knowledge and best practice sharing from within and outside the Grafton portfolio; and to better focus our commercial diligence on prospective portfolio companies.

    David played an active role in the origination of Omilia and also led the commercial diligence aspect of that investment. David has also provided valuable support to the management teams of Starleaf and Softomotive on various strategic projects.

    David is originally from Malmo, Sweden, and has an economics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE).

  5. Tom Denford

    Investment Associate


    Tom joined the investment team in 2019 and leads Grafton's software research efforts. Tom played an active role in the origination of our investment in Omilia.

    Tom graduated with a degree in Economic History from LSE in 2018, and spent most of the following year studying French in Bordeaux.

    Tom is also an accredited graduate of the Softomotive Academy, which he puts to good use in automating numerous elements of our investment and research process.

  6. Emma Rennie

    Financial Controller


    Emma joined Grafton in 2019 and manages the finance and accounting function within Grafton. Prior to Grafton, Emma was a Manager in the Financial Control function at Lloyds Banking Group for 8 years, with prior experience at RBS, Santander and Deutsche Bank.

  7. Nadia Noorgat

    Executive Assistant


    Nadia joined Grafton in 2019 and provides administrative support to the partners and investment team. Prior to Grafton, Nadia was an executive assistant to the C-level team at Culture Trip and to senior partners at the Korn Ferry Hay Group.
